As one of the country's most established and leading providers of higher education for paramedics, Coventry University can boast some excellent facilities for critical care scenario training. These include a moving and handling lab, an obstetric lab, three universal skills labs and a mock 'bedsit'. However, until recently, one facet of prehospital care that has been hard to recreate has been the actual vehicular transfer of a patient from the scenario 'scene' to a 'receiving facility'. This deficit has now been overcome at Coventry University by the introduction of a real ambulance saloon into a classroom.
