Life Connections 2012

01 June 2012
Volume 4 · Issue 6

Despite the economic stringency and increasing pressures on paramedics and other emergency healthcare workers in the UK, Life Connections 2012 nevertheless maintained the high level of interest and innovation that it has done in the past, generating new discussion also from the events and policy changes seen throughout last year.

The event featured seminars, workshops and presentations by speakers from an array of backgrounds and institutions, with focus geared towards improving patient outcome and saving lives and engaging new difficulties that have arisen from such contemporary and future events as the London riots and the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The conference brought together over fifty exhibitors and 600 pre-hospital and emergency care professionals, including students, academics, first-aid workers and, of course, paramedics, who came from as far afield as Australia, Canada and Costa Rica.

Attention upon the UK profession from existing and emerging pre-hospital care services in other countries was particularly evident at the show, with developed and developing nations alike wishing to emulate the high standards and target-based proficiency of the UK NHS ambulance trusts.
